Week 7

Naughty Bus!

This week Miss Parker opened up a parcel, before she did so we had to guess what was inside....it was a double decker red bus! We thought about where we had seen these before, if any of us had ever been on one and then we thought about the adventure it may be going on!

We then read 'Naughty Bus' our new text for Literacy and discovered it was a very naughty bus...it got up to all sorts of mischief and even made our classroom a mess!

Maths

In Maths this week we have been using a new tool to help us with our learning. It is called a Rekenrek. The children have enjoyed familiarising themselves with this new resource which they will use a lot throughout their time in school.

Forest School

In Forest School this week we have been 'Summer Detectives'. We put our detective hats on and went to search for signs of Summer. We found that Forest School was looking a lot greener, lots of pretty flowers, some bumble bees and lots of caterpillars!

P.E

In P.E this week we went on to the field to practise for our upcoming Sports Day! (Friday 7th July 10-11 am). First of all we practised running in a straight line from one coloured cone to the matching coloured cone- this was much trickier than you might think!

Reminder- children need to bring in black pumps or trainers to keep on their pegs to change into on P.E days.

We have been really enjoying the warmer weather this week and have taken the opportunity to learn outdoors as much as possible.

Reminder- please apply suncream to your child before coming to school. Please also provide a named sun hat and a full bottle of water. No sunglasses please.

It has been great to see the children back in school this week after a relaxing half term. I can't quite believe we are in our final half term of Reception!

Have a lovely weekend.
