Week 11 Sports Week
What an eventful and exciting week we have had during our Sports Week this week. The children have had the opportunity to try new sports which they wouldn't normally have tried, learn all about healthy eating and the importance of exercise.
First of all we had a go at Boogie Bounce with Lois. The children were all very engaged and put their all into this. We tried different style of dance such as ballet, Irish dancing and the hand jive. We learnt about where these dances originated from and enjoyed listening and dancing to the different styles of music.
We then had a martial arts masterclass which we really enjoyed. We learnt different moves and played lots of games which got us moving in different ways and directions. The children had lots of fun and were very tired by the end!
We really enjoyed learning to skip with 'Skippy John'. We did this very gradually, starting off by light jumping and then we introduced the rope. We couldn't quite believe how amazing the children were at skipping by the end of the session. They had great fun running in and out of the sharks mouth (the large skipping rope) and became really confident by the end.
The week ended with our fantastic Sports Day and I'm sure you'll agree the children all participated really well and it was a huge success.
We are very proud of how the children have taken part in Sports Week and tried new activities. I'm sure they'll be very tired by the weekend!
Have a lovely weekend,
