Week 6

Autumn Fun!

Thank you so much for bringing in your bags of Autumn Treasure this week, the children have loved having the opportunity to explore everyone's findings from their Autumn walks last weekend. We hope you enjoyed this activity at home as much as we did in class!

Forest School

In Forest School this week we made some leaf hedgehogs! The children really enjoyed this activity, hunting for sticks and finding the right sized leaves to gently thread onto their stick. We looked at the different sizes and shapes of the leaves and enjoyed all of the Autumn colours.

Phonics

This week in phonics we have been learning the phonemes (sounds) 'h', 'b', 'f' and 'l'. Please find the formation phrases below so that your child can have a go at writing these at home if they wish.

Number Four!

We loved investigating different ways to make 4 this week! We used cubes and other objects to find ways we could do this. We were introduced to Numberblock 4 and looked at different ways we could make 4 on our fingers.

Funny Bones!

This week in Literacy we have continued to enjoy the book 'Funny Bones'. We have done Freeze Frames of our favourite parts of the story, re-told the story using finger puppets and have also looked at the use of speech bubbles in the story- the children are really enjoying this story! We also did some art work of the Funny Bones characters using paper straws.

Please remember as the weather is turning colder to always send your child in with a warm coat to wear.

We are so proud of all of the children and have enjoyed another fantastic week!

Please do come to see us before or after school if you would like to discuss anything.
