Week 10 Shiver me Timbers!

Ahoy me Hearties!

This week we have immersed ourselves in all things Pirates! We have been looking at and creating our own Treasure Maps, making our own pirate hats and cutlasses, exploring what pirate ships looked like in the past and of course, learning all of our amazing pirate songs and sea shanties for our fabulous Music Festival which took place on Friday! We really enjoyed inviting lots of other children from other schools into our hall to sing and dance together- Shiver me Timbers!

Each day this week we have read a different pirate story! Some children even brought in some of their pirate stories from home for us to read- what a treat!

We really enjoyed our Music Festival on Friday morning. We had some wonderful costumes, well done shipmates!

Let's go on a Pirate Adventure!

This week we went on our very first Pirate adventure! The Captain led her shipmates into the forgotten island (Forest School!) where all shipmates worked as a team to find the hidden X which marked the spot! We were all so surprised to find the treasure hidden beneath! We then spent time working with others building our own pirate ships and role-playing being pirates! Some children even had to walk the plank!
