Week 5

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

If you've peeked through our window this week you will have noticed our amazing Christmas tree but did you know that the children actually built it? They were amazing at sorting the branches, pulling the branches into position before adding the baubles - one each using the rules of no two colours next to each other. I think you'll agree that they did the most fantastic job.

The lights...

As I was adding the lights I looked up to find a crowd had gathered around me waiting patiently for the big switch on!

The Nativity

Rehearsals started this week for our Nativity and are going brilliantly. The children are speaking, singing and dancing their hearts out and we can't wait for you to see it.

On Friday I gave out the tickets.

  • You have been given 2 tickets for each performance.
  • Any unwanted tickets - please return to me
  • You can swop tickets amongst yourselves
  • Or hopefully I will have spare tickets to swop or hand out extra

Christmas activities

The children have been busy this week with different activities including writing some lists to Father Christmas!

Phonics

The children have now learnt all their phase 2 phonemes. I'm sure you'll agree that when you see it on paper its a massive achievement. This weeks homework included some paper flashcards for you to go through over the next few weeks. Thank you to all of you for doing this as I know it makes such a difference to the retention of their phonics. You are amazing!

Local walk

Next Friday 15th December we will be going on a walk in the local area to look at different types of homes to support our topic - Where do I live? We're really looking forward to it.

Wonderful Weekend

Have a wonderful weekend - apologies for the late blog.
