Provision at Chawson

At Chawson First School, we strive to meet the needs of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities under the 4 main areas of the code of practice.


"As such, provision for pupils with SEND is a matter for the school as a whole. 
All teachers and key workers are teachers of pupils with SEN"

At Chawson we follow the assess, plan, do, review approach to strive to support children to overcome their barriers both academically and socially. 

We recognise the importance of a balance between individualised support and whole class teaching to get the best results for our children.

Whole class teaching is enhanced further through targeted and then specialist help. 

We use My Plans and Support Plans to evidence the help we are providing individual children.
