Week 4 & 5
Our latest key text ahs been The Hungry Caterpillar. We have learnt about days of the week, naming different types of fruit and other foods as well as learning about the life cycle of a caterpillar.
This has also led to us learning about other minibeasts and where they like to live. We enjoyed building our own ‘bug house’ and searching forest school for real minibeasts.
In maths, we have been focusing on measures, learning about balancing, weighing and comparing objects by their weight using appropriate vocabulary such as heavier, lighter and balanced. We then moved on to capacity, exploring when containers are full, empty, nearly full and nearly empty using water, rice and pom poms.
