Week 5

This week we learnt about repeating patterns in our maths. For example blue, red, blue, red or stick leaf, stick, leaf. The children enjoyed experimenting how to make patterns using a range of ideas.

In phonics we focused on the sound ‘i’. We look at pictures of different objects that start with the sound ‘i’. For example, invitation, iguana, igloo. The children sit in smaller groups for this, so we can focus and all have a turn. The children really enjoy phonics and rhyme time. During rhyme time, we learn a popular nursery rhyme for the week. This week it was ‘pat-a-cake’.

Next week we start to learn all about Christmas as a time to celebrate.
