Week 2
What a busy week we have had! We introduced our new text of Goldilocks And The Three Bears as part of our 'Into the Woods' topic. The children have learnt about the key events from the story, acting these out with story props. The children were brilliant at tasting porridge and watching how it changed from dry oats to a wet porridge. We even watched a special video clip to show where oats come from as the children all said they come from the shop!
Our arts and design skill this half term is to learn how to use glue to stick materials together. We made bear headbands using the glue to stick on the ears. We also used glue to create glittery, autumnal trees; learning how to effectively sprinkle on the glitter to the glued areas and then shake off into the tray to save waste (and mess!)
At the end of the week we wore spotty, yellow clothes to raise awareness and money for Children In Need. We also enjoyed our first PE lesson, practicing how to move safely around others, moving in different ways. Our balancing skills were also put to the test whilst trying to balance a bean bag on our heads. To make this even more challenging, we then moved around an obstacle course, to see how long we could keep the beanbag on our heads!
