Week 8

Arts Week!

This week we have really enjoyed taking part in a whole school Arts Week. The children have had creative opportunities to create a collaborative structure made by weaving and weaved their own magic wand. We also had special visitors in to teach us about movement and we even created our own Royal dance routines. Such fun!

We had Miss White come into our classroom to do a Drama workshop with the children which they loved, using their faces and voices in lots of different ways! Some of them were very good indeed! In class we have been using our printing skills to create a new Royal stamp in the style of the artist Damien Hirst which looked fantastic.

On Friday the children will perform a special poem they have been learning to the rest of the school during a special Arts assembly. They have also been learning some body percussion and will perform this to the rest of the school - how very brave! smiley

The poem we have been learning this week is called 'Ant' by Joseph Coelho who is the new children's laureate. The children all got together to perform this with actions, see if they can perform for you at home!

What an enjoyable week we have had. I hope you enjoy the weekend and remember to wrap up warm and stay extra safe if you are attending bonfire/firework displays.

See you next week!

Miss Parker smiley
