Week 1

Welcome Back!

It was so lovely to see all the smiling faces on our first day back after the Easter break. Thank you for all your understanding with the change of door for mornings and the end of the day. It was so lovely to speak to so many of you this week about your children and share all the amazing progress they have made over the last half term. Thank you for your continued support with reading as it makes such an amazing difference.

Come Outside

This week we have started our new topic - Come Outside. We can't wait to visit the farm next week and we received a letter from Sophie asking us what we knew about farms and what we'd like to find out. Then we started thinking about the different animals we might see on the farm. We have been enjoying some farming books in our reading area this week too.

Farmer Duck

We have started a new book called Farmer Duck. I wonder if the children can tell you what happens in the story?

Can you count to 20?

In maths this week we have been helping Monty the mouse count to 20. Monty used his counting wand to help make sure that he only counted each child once and we practised moving Numberblock one to count them too.

Also this week...

We have visited Forest School and couldn't believe how green it is becoming. We talked about the seasons too. In choosing time we have explored construction, jigsaws, making a lego hospital and exploring all the items in the maths area! Mrs Rushton reminded everyone about different joining techniques such as glue, string and sellotape. The children then made some lovely pigs and word fans.

Inside continuous provision

Outside this week - it was sunny!

Farm Trip

We are really excited to go to the farm next Tuesday please remember that children need:

  • To wear their forest school clothes
  • A warm, waterproof coat
  • A water bottle
  • A packed lunch – you can either provide a lunch from home or order one via Aspens. If ordering from Aspens please do this by Friday.
  • An appropriately sized rucksack or bag to transport their water bottle, lunch and wellies whilst on the coach.

Have a lovely weekend
