Week 10

Splash, splash, splash!

What an enjoyable week it has been, despite the heavy rain we have had! The children were keen to get outside to be a good 'Explorosaurus' this week and explore the big puddles which the rain had left. Such fun!

We have continued this week with practising to write our name. This week's Home Learning is to practise name writing at home using the Little Wandle sheet which is in your child's Home Learning book. I'm sure you'll be impressed!

Pudsey Bear

This week we had a whole school assembly where we had a very special visitor...Pudsey Bear! The children were all very excited to see him and even had their picture taken with him. He reminded us about the importance of raising money to help those in need.

Little Red Hen

This week we have continued to read and explore the story of the Little Red Hen. We have used actions to help us to remember and retell the story and created a Story Map to help us to do this. Perhaps your child will be able to perform this to you at home!

Phonics

We have learnt four new sounds this week and the children have been great at practising writing these new graphemes in our Writing Area. See if they can practise these at home too! The new phonemes (sounds) we have learnt are 'v', 'w', 'x' and 'y'.

Where do we live?

This week we have been looking at a map of Droitwich and talking about the town in which we live. We have used the map to talk about what is in our town such as the Leisure Centre, the Library and Post Office. We used the key to identify different places. Why not go for a walk around Droitwich to see if you can spot these places we have looked at!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
