Week 6

Week 6

This week we introduced the children to ‘The colour monster’. The colour monster is all confused, with lots of feeling, so he needs help to sort the colours and sort the feelings. Through the story, we have focused on yellow (happiness), blue (sadness) and green (calm). The children have been discussing what makes them feel happy or sad.

We then introduced the word ‘calm’. The children were shown what calm is and feels like and then made ‘calm jars’. The jars are for the children to look at the excited glitter turn to calm. Some children said watching the glitter made them feel calm too.

In maths, we have been learning to make ABAB patterns. For example; blue, red, blue, red or conker, leaf, conker, leaf. This is something you could continue to practice at home.
