Week 3
Chinese New Year!
This week the children have been learning about Chinese New Year. We have found China on a world map and discovered how Chinese New Year is celebrated across the world. The children especially enjoyed learning about Chinese dragon dancing!
Maths
In Maths this week we have been learning how many different ways we can make 5. We have used the nursery rhyme 5 little speckled frogs to help us with this. For example, if there are 4 frogs on the log and 1 frog in the pool, that makes 5! You will find a video below of '5 Little Speckled Frogs'. You could watch this with your child and work out different ways of making 5. E.g. 5 is made of 4 and 1, 5 is made of 3 and 2 etc.
Phonics
The children have been learning new digraphs (two letters, one sound) this week. You can find them below...
Reading Morning
A huge thank you to the parents who attended our first reading morning on Wednesday, the children really enjoyed their parents coming into visit their classroom. We look forward to seeing you next Wednesday at the same time .
