Week 3
The Coronation of King Charles III
This week we have been learning all about our new King. We read the Book Little People Big Dreams and found out all about his life. We learnt about why we have coronations and looked at film footage of the last coronation which was in black and white. We wrote the last coronation on our timeline and realised it was a very long time ago...before even Mrs Rudkin was born! We looked at how people celebrate by having tea parties and street parties. Some of the children shared what they are planning to do on Saturday to celebrate.
Decorating
This week we have made paper chains and started to create a new display all about the coronation.
Mark making...
We wrote invitations to our class party, drew crowns and flags on the playground, coloured cards and crowns and even dreamt up our own menus for a special coronation meal!

Castles and imaginative play
Funky Fingers
We have all enjoyed threading, peg boards and tweezers in the paper. We have also created crowns ready for Friday.

Coronation Party
On Friday we all dresses in red, white or blue or as a King or Queen to celebrate the King's Coronation. We had a fantastic day.
Have a fantastic weekend - don't forget that we are closed on Monday due to the Bank Holiday.
See you on Tuesday.
