Week 11
Week 11
Class RB have had another fantastic week in Reception. We have been making bread, joining materials together and celebrating an England win in the World Cup!
Bread Making
The children enjoyed making bread on Monday. We linked this to our current text: The Little Red Hen. We discussed the different ingredients needed to make the dough and spoke about the meaning of some new words such as 'yeast' and 'knead'. The children really enjoyed kneading the dough and then tasting bread rolls in the afternoon.
The World Cup
On Monday afternoon we were treated to an afternoon of football as we were given the chance to watch England play in the World Cup! The children absolutely loved getting behind their country and enjoyed cheering each England goal .

Joining Materials
This week we have been thinking about how to join different materials together. We have been thinking about how to use gluesticks and PVA glue to make our own creations and the children really enjoyed having the opportunity to showcase their creative skills.

Phonics
This week we have started to learn some new digraphs (2 letters making 1 sound). Here are the sounds that we have learnt this week:
Have a wonderful weekend.
