Week 5

An Olympic Week!

What an exciting week we have had in Reception! We met Lucy Renshall when she visited school and she inspired us talking about her Olympic journey and her medals. What an inspiration she is! The children all took part in the sports activities in the hall and the atmosphere was amazing!

Fruit Tasting

This week we talked about healthy eating and why this is important. We cut up lots of different fruits and sat in a circle to taste them. The children were really good and tried lots of different fruits. We talked about how they tasted and what the texture was like.

Home Learning

For this weeks Home Learning we ask that you go on an Autumn Walk to collect different things relating to Autumn such as acorns, conkers and different coloured leaves. We hope you have fun doing this. Please bring back to school next week for us to explore together.

Phonics

This week we have learnt the phonemes (sounds) 'ck', 'e', 'u' and 'r'. If you are able to practise writing these graphemes at home that would be amazing! smiley

'Read with Me'

On Friday last week your child will have come home with a 'Read with Me' book. This is a lovely opportunity for you to share this book with your child, a chance to relax and enjoy the book together. If the book is returned in their book bags your child will be able to choose a different 'Read with Me' book the following Friday.

Forest School Fun!

This week in Forest School we hunted for 3 objects such as 3 sticks or 3 conkers. We used the language 'one, one and another one is three'. We then used all the objects we had collected to make Autumn Soup! What fun!

Wishing you all a lovely, relaxing weekend smiley
