Week 3

Bread, bumps and bears

What an eventful week RR have had! Unfortunately, I caught the dreaded sickness bug and had to have 48 hours at home then Mrs Rushton slipped on the playground on Thursday and Miss Walton took the helm. Luckily, Mrs Rushton is now fine although a little bruised. I am so lucky to have such a fantastic team who know the children so well and are able to lead the class when needed.

The Little Red Hen

After reading the story last week the children have been learning to retell their own version including voices and actions. I was amazed when I came back on Friday to discover that they were able to retell it brilliantly and I had to film and share it!

Our local area

The children have been learning about the local area and using maps of Droitwich and google maps have been finding all the landmarks in Droitwich such as the Lido park. We also talked about buildings in Droitwich including the library, smaller shops and larger food shops like Morrisons and Aldi.

Phonics

This week the children have learnt 4 more phonemes and how to write the letter (grapheme).

We are nearly at the end of the alphabet and so this will help all children to form their letters ready for their name writing homework this week.

Children in need

On Tuesday the children were very excited to meet Pudsey Bear. We enjoyed wearing our non-school uniform and playing lots of games to raise money for the charity too.

Next week

We are doing our PE session on Monday morning and our Forest School in the afternoon. Don't forget to record the reading book reads (not library book) in the yellow record book. I have just ordered a new stamp for the book and sparkly stickers which I can't wait to start handing out!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend.
