Week 7

Pumpkins, potions and very clean teeth!

As I write this last blog of Autumn One term its hard not to be reflective and to think about the journey we have been on already. The children have progressed so much. Thank you to all the parents for being so supportive - I'm looking forward to talking to you all at our Parent's evenings when we return after half term.

Autumn fun

We have had such fun this week exploring pumpkins. We've scooped out the seeds from a giant pumpkin, dried the seeds and practised scooping and pouring,  painted small pumpkins using our colour mixing skills, designed pumpkin faces, coloured in pictures, built spooky castle and played with black, glittery playdough made by Mrs Rushton,

Teeth

As part of our Early Learning goals the children have been learning how to clean their teeth and the importance of brushing twice a day. We practised using a set of huge teeth - they were very clean when we'd finished with them!

Halloween Safety

In readiness for the 31st October we will be discussing how to stay safe during Halloween.

  • Asking a grown up to cut the pumpkins face.
  • Going trick or treating with an adult and checking with an adult before eating anything.
  • Keeping safe whist trick or treating and never going out alone.

Half term and INSET day

Remember that Monday 31st October is an INSET day when the teachers will be busy being taught themselves! We'll see you all on the 1st November when we'll be taking part in Arts week doing lots of fun activities such as painting, dance work shops, art workshops and music.

We hope you have a fantastic half term.
