Pirates, Treasure and Pre-School
This week we have been looking at traditional pirates, reading stories about them, looking at their modes of transport. We will end with our Music Festival where we are singing some amazing songs including a pirate sea shanty.
This week we have welcomed children from pre-schools across Droitwich who will be joining us in September. I have been so proud of the class in the way they have looked after our visitors, playing with them and setting a really great example - well done!
Hunting the Treasure!
On Monday we thought about the way that pirates hide their treasure. We played a games of hotter and colder. Each person hid a coin (plastic) and then helped their partner find it using the directions of hotter and colder. The children had great fun even if we only came back with 3 out of the 12 coins! Maybe we'll find them next time!
We have been creative!
This week we have coloured, painted, constructed and completed junk modelling.
Patterns, games and capital letters
This week we have been looking at the formation of capital letters and matching the upper and lower case letters. We've looked at patterns and symmetry in maths and enjoyed playing a game or two.
We had such a fantastic time at the music festival on Friday. We went into the hall and were joined by 6 other recpetion classes from across Droitwich and the surrounding villages. We sang lots of songs that we have been practising in class. We listened to music and drew how it made us feel on huge pieces of paper. We created a storm using a parachute and played our own crisp tube drums!
The children all looked fantastic I'm sure you'll agree!
On Monday RR will be spending the morning with their new teacher Miss Gardner and teaching assistant Miss Hoburn. Miss Dwyer will be going up to year 1 too to support some of the children.
Please come to RR in the morning at the usual time of 8.30-8.40 for normal morning registration. Miss Gardner will come and collect the children from our class.
Next week we will be taking part in Sports Week look out for more details on the windows.
