Week 4

The weeks are flying by! The children are well and truly settled into school life and it's been another busy week. 

For the last two weeks, we have been doing something called 'squiggle whilst you wiggle' or squiggle time. This is where we move our bodies to music to develop the strength in our arms for mark-making and writing. We then transfer this movement onto paper using two crayons, just like below. The children love the different music that we play for each movement. For example, this week we have been moving 'up and down' to 'I'm Your Man' by Wham! 

We have also really enjoyed having some of our grown-ups visiting for a stay and play this week. The children have really liked showing their parents around our environment and I hope the adults enjoyed an insight into the classroom too. 

We have also finished reading our YOU CHOOSE storybook which the children have really enjoyed.

• Louie Williams really liked the bed made from a space rocket as he would like to go to the moon and visit aliens! 
• George liked the holiday page and said he would visit the beach so he can make sandcastles.
• Millie spoke about the hobbies page and said she would like to try ballet because she would like to be a ballerina when she grows up!

On Monday, children will be receiving books with words in, so watch out for an extra blog post on Monday!
