Week 3

Week 3

Welcome to week 3 of our Spring blog. The children have been very busy this week, displaying some amazing learning around the classroom. We have had a big focus on number bonds to 5 in maths, where we work out how we can make 5 using two numbers. E.g. 3 and 2 makes 5, 4 and 1 makes 5 etc. The children have really enjoyed sharing different ways of doing this in the classroom. 

The children have also had great fun in forest school where we were learning about trees in Winter. We learnt about deciduous and evergreen trees and then searched for them in forest school. The children really enjoyed using their phonics to write down the different parts of the tree - see below! 

We also had lots of fun in PE this week as we carried on our 'explorers' topic and explored how to move in different ways. The children loved climbing up and down the climbing frames and showed great strength and coordination to move around. 

Finally, we have been learning more sounds this week and specifically focusing on 'digraphs' where two letters make one sound. For example, 's' and 'h' together make the 'sh' sound. Below are the sounds that we have been learning this week.
