Week 3
Week 3
This again week has been really exciting and full of new experiences. We have enjoyed staying all day, even if we’re a little bit tired now!
On Monday we put on our wellies and ventured into Forest School. We had great fun exploring, making mud castles and dens, climbing trees and we even found a little green frog! We learnt how to hold sticks carefully and enter the Forest School circle carefully from behind our stools. We can’t wait to visit next week. When it gets cold and wet we will wear the school waterproof trousers and our own coats.
Our book this week is called You Choose. It is a fantastically illustrated book that sparks the imagination and gets children talking. We have chosen where we would like to live, what we would put inside our home and our favourite method of transport. Have a look at one of the pages all about food and discuss it with your child – I wonder what you would choose?
In maths we have been finding matching pairs. We have used lots of socks, items from the classroom and numicon pieces. We asked the children ‘How do you know that you have chosen a pair?’ and we have learnt that pairs are the same colour and they are the same shape and size.
We had our first PE lesson this week. We will have PE on Wednesdays from now on. Their PE kit will stay in school until half term when it will come home to be washed. Please continue to support your child in getting dressed and undressed independently at home as this will help them in school.
Have a wonderful weekend. We’re looking forward to seeing lots of you at stay and play next week, you will find a letter with your time in the book bags.
