Week 2

This week we continued to look at what happens during Autumn and the class were able to tell me lots of things that happen during this season including the leaves changing and that some animals hibernate. During PE we used HUGE leaves to create an Autumnal dance and I couldn’t resist sharing the amazing movements on our blog again.

We have been focusing on two very important creative skills this week - using glue and cutting using scissors. Using scissors is a tricky skill as we need lots of strength to move our thumb and fingers. Perhaps you would like to practise this skill at home?

Here we are making some collages and making leaf people.

We learnt about why people wear poppies and watched a short animation from CBeebies before observing our own silence in the classroom. We cut out our own poppies to wear too.

We printed poppies and also created them using loose parts too.

Thank you for the amazing Home Learning Journals that you sent in last week. This weekend’s task is to play some phonics games.

Finally, next week is well-being week. On Thursday children can wear their slippers in the classroom.

Have a wonderful weekend
