Week 2
Week 2
In class RB this week we have been very busy!
The children have been focusing on how to cut and stick using scissors and glue. It has been lovely to see how hard the children have been trying to develop this really important skill. The children particularly enjoyed cutting dry spaghetti, straws and long strips of paper. This is something that you could replicate at home, as learning to cut with control will be a handy skill to learn through their Chawson learning journey.
The children have also been working hard on creating their very own Autumn poem. After learning all about poems last week, we decided to write our own based on what we know about Autumn. You could ask your child to perform the poem below, I wonder if they could show you the matching actions.
Autumn is...
Crunching yellow leaves
Picking up smooth conkers
Tasting yummy soup
Smelling sweet berries
Watching bendy trees
On Thursday, we also had some thinking time about Rememberance Day. We spoke about why we wear poppies and the importance of remembering how brave the armed forces have been during times of war. The children observed the two minutes silence beautifully and we were all incredibly proud of them.

Next week is just as busy with the following things happening:
- Reading stay and play sessions (Monday to Friday)
- Wellbeing week - with children wearing slippers on Thursday
- Children in Need on Friday - children to wear non-school uniform with crazy hair!
We hope you have a wonderful weekend.
