Week 2
Week 2
What a fantastic week we have had in RR. It is lovely to see the children coming into school so confidently ready to start their day. They are getting used to the routines and of course staying for lunch. We collect our lunches from the infant hall and eat them in the classroom with our friends. It's great to see the children trying new foods and hearing them chatting away too.
This week we have been practising using a knife and fork to help us with our cooked lunches. We used playdough and practised cutting it into bite sized pieces. Perhaps this is something you can try at home. It's more fun learning to use cutlery when you’re not hungry!
We have explored the outside area. Here we are on the bridges over the ‘hot lava’. Building train tracks and making crowns.
We have been singing lots of nursery rhymes and enjoyed the story all about Humpty Dumpty – ask your children what happened in the story.

On Monday we start Forest School in the afternoon. Children will need to come to school in their Chawson polo shirt and jumper or cardigan and a pair of dark jogging bottoms or leggings. They will also need a pair of wellies that we will keep in school. On Thursday they have their first PE lesson. Please can you ensure that they have their PE kit in school by then.
Look out for the letter about our stay and play sessions. We can’t wait for you to come and share the fun with us.
Have a lovely weekend
