Week 2
This week we have been staying for lunch! The children have been visiting the Infant Hall to collect their hot dinner and have really enjoyed eating their lunch in the classroom. It has been wonderful to see the children eating alongside each other and chatting away about various different topics. The children have tried lots of different foods including Marconi cheese, chicken curry and of course ice-cream!
Throughout the week, we have been talking to the children about how to sit sensibly during meal times and how to correctly use our knife and fork to eat food. The children have been practising this by cutting up Play-Doh using cutlery and this is something you may want to try at home with your child.
We have also had our first birthday this week with George celebrating his 5th birthday on Wednesday. We sang happy birthday and he was lucky enough to sit on our special birthday chair for the day! He was also very kind to bring in some birthday cupcakes which we really enjoyed eating (especially Mr Bartle and Mrs Lush!).
Please remember it’s full days next week with the start of PE and Forest School. A letter has also been sent home today about the chance for parents/carers to ‘stay and play’ in Reception.
