We are all very happy and excited to be back after half term. We have settled very well into routine and some of us even get to enjoy a new room, next door for the morning session. We have welcomed some new children to Pre-school and have made them feel very welcome.
As part of developing our maths skills, our focus this week was to create simple patterns. We learnt about making patterns with the teddy bears by colour and by size. Some of us even wanted to carry this on during our choosing time after our carpet session. Perhaps you could create your own patterns at home e.g. red duplo, yellow duplo, red duplo, yellow duplo and so on.
As it’s Bonfire night this week, we have spent some time watching firework video clips so we know what to expect at the weekend. We had fun in the big hall dancing with coloured ribbons, pretending to be colourful fireworks. We then had a sparkler safety demonstration learning to stand well back, wear gloves if we hold a sparkler, stand away from others and put it out in a bucket of sand. After this, we enjoyed making our own sparklers from sticks and coloured ribbons. Our favourite moment was the glitter firework made from a balloon. Glitter went everywhere!
