Reception Blog - Early Learning Goals
Reception Weekly Blog
Early Learning Goal Edition
This week's blog (28.01.22) will focus on the Early Learning Goals. These are 17 different goals that your child will try and achieve at the end of the summer term, which feels like a long way away but it will soon be here before we know it! The children have already been working towards these goals everyday by developing their skills and knowledge based around 7 different areas of learning.
Below are the 17 different Early Learning Goals, these will be discussed further during your child's next parents evening appointment.
We often get asked by parents how they can further support their child's learning at home. Below is a list of activities that you can try and home which are linked to each area of learning. However, we often promote the following words when discussing learning at home for your child.
1. Chat - developing speaking and listening skills is a big part of the Early Years Foundation Stage and any opportunity to have a back-and-forth conversation will be of huge benefit.
2. Play - the curriculum that your child follows is very play-based as this provides a great environment for them to learn and thrive in a range of ways.
3. Read - reading stories develops your child's imagination, their love for reading and much more!
If you have any further questions about the Early Learning Goals, please speak to your child's class teacher.
